A maker first analyzes the model in slicing software. The result estimates production time and material use.
- Part volume and material
- Print duration and machine type
- Infill, layer height, and support structures
- Finishing such as sanding, painting, or assembly
Why does infill matter?
More infill generally makes a part heavier and extends production. Not every part needs 100% infill: decorative objects can use less, while functional parts require a value chosen for their loads and geometry.
How to receive an accurate quote
Share the intended use, dimensions, required strength, and quantity with your file. An STL, OBJ, or 3MF file lets the maker estimate time and material far more accurately than an image alone.
